I firstdrew out the letterform on cardboard, then cut it out, hot glued the pieces together, covered with sequins and voila! I started off with a lowercae "j" but had trouble making it stand on its own so i switched to a nice sturdy A.
Found them in my room and concocted a brilliant plan to make a sequined letterform, telling myself it would only take a couple hours...littledid i know. Sequins are much, much more difficult to work with than their whimsical appearance would imply...
Finished product! I tried to venture outside of the shape a little more an also to expand further on the fish.
My originaldrop cap. I tried to push the boundaries a little with the seaweed at the top and the fish-ish arm but after critique in class realized I coulddo more. Awful white balance, oops.
